Dear a child born with intestinal problems,

My daughter was born with a condition called jejunal atresia. The day she was born she was transfered to Children's National Medical Center and had surgery performed. She was then diagnosed with short gut syndrome. Marisol has had a hard nine years of life but thanks to the Gastroenterology (GI) team, especially Ginny Gebus and Clarivet Torres, MD, she is doing great! She had a multiple organ transplant in September of 2009 and can now have a "normal" childhood like she deserves. Keep your head up and keep the faith- you're in good hands.
